Who is Mr. E?

Founder of WeRunThis.net, Hip Hop DJ & Blogger “Mr. E”, being the son of german parents was born in 1985 in the town of Bautzen. Even before the fall of the Berlin Wall he made a successful move from the republic of the Soviet Occupation Zone DDR across the border to West Germany to live near Munich. Through the musical influence of his father he was already into hip hop veterans such as the “Beastie Boys” and “Grandmaster Flash” at the age of four.

His cousin, who at that time was a well known DJ in southern Germany, was responsible for his early enthusiasm for turntables and mixers. At the age of just 9, Mr. E produced with him his first mixtape! Having saved up money to acquire his first turntable at the age of 12, he spent hours listening and learning the scratching and mixing skills of hip hop bangers, most of whom came from the United States. At the age of 14 he began to dj at his first events like skateboard festivals & various jams.
By the end of 2000, Mr. E formed the hip hop crew RPS Fam (DJ Hotsauce, Mr. E, Pokey Size, Asmall), and the first major show took place with a lot of positive feedback and enthusiasm from the spectators in the clubs. A major role in his musical socialization may have also come from the origin of the RPS’ due to the many thousands of GI’s stationed in the southern Germany area, which has a traditionally strong U.S. influence. “We’d actually continuously tour between Nuremberg, Stuttgart, Munich and Frankfurt.” said Mr. E. Mr. Es first club gig was at the age of 15! After many years of experience, Mr. E was traveling in Europe as a Hip Hop DJ. Among other things, he was also touring and supporting artists such as UNK, Azad, French Montana, Lumidee & many more. In 2002 Mr. E began working on various mixtapes with exclusive, rare and especially in Europe, not yet published U.S. songs. Instead of the songs being strung together as usually found on mixtapes, Mr. E captivated the listener with a series of very elaborate remixes, transitions, blends, exclusive songs and freestyles.

” He put together the mixtapes with much effort and love and deserves to carry this name.” For example, only the intro of “Diplomatic Affairs” Mixtape brings together beats and acapellas which other DJs use in a whole club night.

Regularly featured by various press reports in magazines such as “Bravo” (GER), “Juice” (GER), “Rolling Stone” (U.S.), “Popmatters” (U.S.), “Backspin” (GER), “RagoMagazine” (UK) , Rap US (FR), The Source (US), Flavor (GER) and many more. “Diplomatic Affairs” is the first mixtape, with over 80,000 copies in Europe, a unique achievement in itself. The CD was in “Rap US”, France’s greatest hip-hop magazine (Europe edition), and published in one of Germany’s greatest Hip Hop Clothing Mailorder “77store.com” (International Edition). Mr. E is one of the few DJs around the world who has ever published to such a large circulation.

Above all, Mr. E took a very decisive role in planning the European collaborative mixtape “Europes most wanted DJs – Global Threat”: together with DJ Mesta (Italy), DJ Allure (UK) and DJ Phatstaff (France), hosted by A-Mafia, of the legendary Hip Hop group “Dipset”.

Since 2009 Mr. E has been living in Nürnberg and operates one of the most successful mixtape series in Europe. “We Run This,” is an official compilation series for which he already has superstars like TI, Jadakiss, B.o.B, Talib Kweli, Mobb Deep, Young Dro, 8Ball & MJG, Styles P, Sheek Louch, and Ace Hood. Through regular visits to the U.S.A he has built up a close collaboration with artists and labels alike. As a result, “We Run This” boasts creative transitions, scratching, hosting and producing beats / Mash Ups by Mr. E especially with exclusive and previously unpublished musical material. The compilation series is available worldwide and has even moved outside of Europe and USA to countries such as Australia and Japan commanding a very large following.

From 2004 – 2007 Mr. E successfully studied Audio Engineer at the University of Munich.
2003 – 2008 “Mr. E” together with “A. Small” run “RPS Ent” Europe’s largest mixtape distributor, with delivery to over 450 hip hop stores across Europe.
2009 and 2011 – the well-known brand Hip Hop & Basketball “Kickz, K1X known as” sponsored Mr. E and supplied him with branded clothing.

Since 2011 – Mr. E is also involved in the development of Zomo DJ Gear like the Zomo MC-1000 (Midi Controller for Traktor DJ Software) or the professional DJ headphone: Zomo HD-2500
